Frequently Asked Questions

Getting started with therapy begins with an initial phone consultation to see if we might be a good fit. You can tell me what’s bringing you to therapy and ask any questions you have. Therapy is most supported by two things: a good fit between the client and therapist, and consistency of meeting. If I don’t believe I’m the best therapist for you, or you don’t feel like it’s a good fit, I’m more than happy to provide you with referrals. But if it does feel like we might work well together, you’re welcome to schedule a session or take time to think it over.

I am not contracted with insurance companies. However, if you have out-of-network benefits you may be eligible for some reimbursement by your insurance provider.

To find out if your insurance will reimburse you for a portion of the therapy cost, ask them:

Do I have out-of-network coverage for out-patient mental health benefits?
If so, what percentage of the fee do you reimburse?
Do I have a deductible and if so how much of it has been met?
How do I submit claims?

I can accept payments through  flexible spending accounts (FSA) and health savings accounts (HSA).

If my fee does not fit in your budget I can give you referrals for sliding scale therapy in the area. You can also check out Open Path Collective, which lists therapist who have openings for $30-50.

Yes! I am currently seeing clients remotely, primarily over video. We can also do phone sessions but I ask that we meet by video for a few sessions initially.

I am located in San Francisco, CA. I am currently only working with clients remotely, by video or phone.

Therapy is a dedicated time where you can lay out all of your concerns with someone who wants to understand and help you find a way through them. It provides an opportunity to have someone who is on your side, can help you with your blind spots, heal past experiences, and who wants you to have a good life.

Although I help people who experience anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and other issues, I also specialize in general personal growth and life transitions. Therapy can help you learn skills that create emotional health, improve relationships, and live a life aligned with our values and desires.

If you are curious and want to learn more please feel free to contact me or read more about me and my approach.

I accept cash, check, and Zelle. I can also accept HSA or FSA cards. Payment is due at the time of your session.

I offer a portion of my services at lower rates, however these spots are usually full and are based on financial need. If my fee is a concern you are welcome to inquire about sliding scale availability.
